About Rokstar Labs
Who We Are
Rokstar Labs is your launchpad for turning musical dreams into reality. Founded by Steve Lichtman—a lifelong rock-n-roll enthusiast, dad to an aspiring young musician, and author of Plan, Execute & Rock—we’re here to bridge the gap for beginners who have big ideas but zero resources. As a music-centric family, we’ve felt the frustration firsthand: there’s just not enough out there to help total newcomers get started, build skills, and rock the stage. That’s why we created Rokstar Labs—to provide the tools, guidance, and that essential “lightning bolt” spark to help you plan, execute, and truly rock your musical journey.
Meet Steve Lichtman, Founder & CEO
Hey, I’m Steve. I’m a high-energy enabler who’s all about unlocking potential in others. Everyone has something they’re amazing at—whether it’s shredding a guitar, writing lyrics, or performing with heart. My mission? To shock your system with the motivation and know-how to chase your goals, especially if you’re starting from scratch like so many aspiring artists (including my own kid).
I grew up as an 80s kid obsessed with rock-n-roll, and I’ve carried that passion through life as a sometime artist, dog dad, husband, and father. But my professional path started in the late 90s, grinding in the family business—driving checks around NYC, subletting space in Trump Tower, and rising to Director of Sales & Marketing for IBM partners. I helped hundreds of businesses crush their goals, but I craved something more personal: empowering everyday dreamers, not just corporate machines.
That led me to freelance life in the 2010s, where I juggled big changes (hello, fatherhood and moves) while serving as fractional CMO for coaches, consultants, and small brands. Over a decade, I’ve worked with hundreds more, always focusing on that “lightning in a bottle” moment to energize and elevate.
Drawing from my experience authoring Plan, Execute & Rock—a guide to effective marketing strategies for business owners—I’ve built Rokstar Labs to apply those same principles to the music world. As a rock lover raising a mini-musician, I saw the void: no simple, accessible path for beginners with nothing but passion. Here, we channel proven tactics into music-specific tools and support, helping you grow your skills and presence without the overwhelm.
Why bother if it doesn’t light you up? Life’s too short—let’s make music that matters. Thanks for stopping by. Let’s rock.
